On this special bonus podcast for the Month Of Spooky 2020. We play one of my favorite stories from old time radio. The House in Cypress Canyon is an episode from the series Suspense. The plot is presented as a story-within-a-story framed by a meeting between detective Sam Spade (played by Howard Duff) and a friend who has discovered a manuscript regarding a mysterious house.
It was written by Robert L. Richards, and directed by William Spier. This episode is consistently cited as one of the most terrifying programs broadcast during radio's golden age. It was originally broadcast December 5, 1946 and despite its popularity it only aired once during the show's run.
