On the program today we have a trickster that maybe taking it too far and an email from a listener who didn’t take it far enough. The story comes from Box 13 and who knows where the email came from. I guess I could track it down if I really wanted to know.

"Adventure wanted -- will go anywhere, do anything -- Box 13." That is the newspaper listing that Dan Holiday uses to get his stories. In total there were 52 episodes of the radio program created. It was heard over the Mutual Broadcasting System and it ran from 1948 to the end of 1949. Box 13, starred Alan Ladd as Dan Holiday. Ladd was best known for his role as Shane in the famous 1953 western of the same name. Box 13 was originally meant to be an adventure series and it does do that, but as you will hear in this episode that Holiday is also a great detective. He has to figure out who is committing dangerous pranks on his friend. The episode is called “Death is No Joke” and it first aired on May 22, 1949.

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate my Portland Trailblazers for making it to the 2014 NBA playoffs.  It has been a few years. My hopes are high, but guarded and remember dreams can come true.
