Ron’s Amazing Stories is a weekly podcast. We play classic short stories, old-time radio and much more. Do you have a story that you want to tell? Ron will read it on the show or you can tell it for yourself! Also, we do interviews with authors, radio personalities, actors and even an NBA all-star

On the program this week we have a tale from radio’s best, Suspense. It is easy to see why this show was so successful and was one the last to leave the airwaves. Our story was written by Dorothy Sayers who is best known for her work on mysteries set between the first and second World Wars. They featured an English aristocrat and amateur sleuth Lord Peter Wimsey. The episode puts a twist on the classic telling of Ali Baba. It is called The Cave of Ali Baba and it first aired on August 19, 1942.

Also, this week I have put together a collection of vintage radio commercials from the 40s and 50s. If you really take note they will tell you more about American culture than fills some museums. With their catchy jingles, great products and of course outrageous claims you can hear what was important to us during those days.

We just finished listening to the Ali Baba podcast. What a great story - and thanks for the old time radio commercials. They brought back lots of fun memories for both of us as we grew up listening to these shows and commercials.

Happy Thanksgiving,
