On the podcast this week we continue with the History of Jazz – Part 2. In part one in our historical journey, we covered some of the very early forms of Jazz. We learned of Dixieland, Traditional Jazz, Swing, Bebop, Latin Jazz and we ended with Cool Jazz. In part two of our story, we cover a few of the newer forms of Jazz. These will include Fusion, Funk, Smooth Jazz and we will end with Nu Jazz.
Copyright laws prohibit me from playing full versions of many of the songs. I try to use the public domain whenever possible, but with the newer tunes, it is difficult. To best of my knowledge, all of the full versions of the tunes used in this broadcast are in the public domain. If you own the rights to any of the works please let me know and I will remove the song or chop it down. Later this week I will post a blog as to where you can listen to full versions the titles used in these two programs.
