A few weeks back I took a podcast off and basically just played a story. However, the feedback I got on the show was so good it made me think that should take more podcasts off. I am not going to do that, but this week I play another episode of Richard Diamond, Private Detective. Also, on this episode I will tell you about Dick Powel, the star of the show and a bit about the series itself.

Richard Diamond, Private Detective came to NBC in 1949. Diamond was a slick sophisticated detective with a sharp tongue for folks who needed it. Diamond enjoyed the detective life, but not as much as entertaining his girl, Helen Asher. After each show he would croon a number to his Park Avenue sweetheart. The episode is called The 50,000 Dollar Diamond Heist and it first aired on November 12, 1949. Someone tries to put the frame on Rick, but the hard-boiled detective is a bit too smart for that.
